Pressing forward in the New Year
Dear Builders and Realtors:
History tells us the lessons we learned or our past reveals errors that we can re-train. When we look back, our purpose is to move forward by learning from errors and successes.
We cannot build a future alone. We work together, connect with others and build on each other’s strengths, while helping our neighbors. I call attention to our “blind spots.” Yes, we each have them. Think about this last year, where was your weakest point? Could you focus on it for just 48 hours? Think about it, write about it, talk about it, play with it and laugh about it. Then, find someone to answer questions about it.
If you can Laugh and talk about it, it is no longer a problem, but the “bone of contention” becomes a view point and platform for building today and tomorrow.
I want you to think! Look at the statistics of the last 24 months I have enclosed about the sales and activity of real estate in Clark County on my web site under Statistics. The Media’s opinions are driving the listings down and sales down. The public blind spot I hear is “Is there any money to lend?” That is why I am interviewing banks and mortgage companies articles to find funding for sales.
What can you do to change the perception of the press and tell the truth to the public? If you do one thing, regularly, you can change a community. I saw in the Colombian newspaper, today, that Tom Mielke, a new Clark County Commissioner, wants to lower the excise tax for builders. I saw a new mayor candidate, Tim Leavitt, is campaigning to change our invitations to better a new business climate for Vancouver, WA. I saw The Vancouver City Council challenge the State’s storm-water plan. What can you do?
Think, Ponder, Talk, Write, Direct, Laugh and Play while challenging your past and planning your future. Change can happen!
May this be a better year for the Builders and Realtors. You can make a difference, today!
